F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby.
One of my new years resolutions for 2012 is to read more books shelved in the “classics” section. Several months ago I read Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast set in Paris in the early 1900’s discussing Ernest’s time living there as a young writer. There happens to be a chapter that I quite liked about F. Scott Fitzgerald recounting the time they spent together writing and drinking around France. At that particular time, Fitzgerald had just finished the rough draft of The Great Gatsby and Hemingway recounted some of the conversations they had about the book - I like knowing the history or backstory to a novel or music album prior to experiencing it, it really allows you to be in their head and so I’ve been meaning to read this for a while now.
If you’re looking for the same copy they’re available at Daunt Books in Marylebone, London.
